We don’t want to come off as a boring commercial, but we do have a huge guilty pleasure. While our major guilty pleasure is whining about food throughout the week, and still having loads of it on our cheat day, we have another one, and it is a priceless one to be sure. As soon as we put the final touches to our rich and flavorful protein shakes, we tend to keep them in the freezer so that we can enjoy them later on, and practically devour them to our heart’s content.

Our guilty pleasure here involves staring at the mason jar full of the blatant protein shake, that we had just seconds ago placed into the freezer. We notice the tiny droplets that have now started to emerge around the jar, without realising that we might have been interfering with the process of condensation since the freezer’s door has been open for quite some time now. There is pure glee in this situation, and if you have had the sake of owning up to this guilty pleasure, then we are now buddies for life.

Today, we are going to talk about 5 everyday smoothie hacks that can not only help you to make your meals in a couple of minutes but are nutritious, tasteful, and all of those traits that a healthy food commercial state. (1)

1)  Prepare Beforehand

Your manager might agree to the alibi you used yesterday – yes, your alarm didn’t go off or there wasn’t any water in the building for you to take care of your morning ritual. However, how would you explain to your manager that you were busy making a healthy smoothie for breakfast, and somehow you had forgotten to shop for ingredients the day before? If he isn’t a health fanatic, then you can surely kiss your job goodbye.

In order to escape the routine alibis and the wrath of your manager when you reach your office late, try preparing beforehand. Get ahold of the ingredients you require at least a couple of days ago, and whisk and fix them as per the recipes you’re following. Take small muffin tins and pour the mixture into them, and leave them to freeze overnight. Every morning, while your egg is busy frying, take your dainty smoothie cups and throw them in your blender for a hasty yet perfect breakfast.

2) Be Imaginative with Ice-Cubes

Gone are the days when ice cube trays were used just for water. Ice cube trays are basically for any beverage or substance that can be frozen beforehand in order to save you time. In this case, you can make your coffee beforehand, and add them to ice cube trays so that they give you the perfect bitter taste when you add them to your protein shake. You can also put spinach, kale, or broccoli for in the ice cube trays so that they stay fresh at all times and are perfect when used for garnishing purposes.

3) Use Small Blender Cups in Place of The Pitcher

Today, there are state-of-the-art blenders that not only come with the usual pitcher that they always had but also consist of small blending cups that are perfect for making rich smoothie protein shakes. Washing the pitcher every morning before work is a hassle – who has time for that? I

t’s time to update to a new blender that is ideal for blending protein shakes with a thick consistency and high nutrition value. You can also cater to a blender that can hold a mason jar instead of the pitchers. This can not only make things easier for you by saving you the early morning hassle of rinsing dishes before you head out, but you can also take your concoction with you on the go right away.

4) Protect That Blender

While the sequence of the ingredients doesn’t matter, it is a widely known fact that hard substances such as nuts might exert more pressure on the blades of the blender, making it hard for your smoothie to blend nicely. In order to avoid this, try adding soft fruit or vegetables with yoghurt, milk, or any liquid before you place the harder ingredients.

In this way, the blender’s blades will be lubricated enough to pave through the hard ingredients, thus saving you time, and therefore, protecting your blender at the same time. In the end, you can add the ice cubes so that they don’t pose a hindrance to the blending as well. Also, try not to start blending at full speed, because being fast and furious with your blender is not the trick to a hassle-free and a perfect smoothie. Go slow, and then increase the speed as required. (2)

5) Popsicles, Get Your Popsicles

Having some of the batter left behind is okay. If you think that it is not enough to get you at least half of a mason jar, then how about you make frame it into a popsicle? Also, if you don’t have popsicle moulds with you, then you can always store the remaining smoothie serving in an ice cube tray or muffin tins for later use. However, munching on icy cold popsicles which are rich in protein and flavourful at the same time might be a hack that we would prefer sticking on to.

We hope that these simple smoothie hacks will not only help you to whip up your concoction within minutes but will also leave you with more time to enjoy the beverage.
