Our minds are curious parts of our bodies and do everything possible to prevent us from having a good night’s sleep. When all our tiredness is put into bed, our minds are our biggest enemies.

They don’t ever close their mouths. Sleepless nights most often occur when we are exhausted after a busy working day or even after an ordinary day with little physical activity.

It seems there is little or nothing we could do to save ourselves from staring at the empty ceiling for the following night. We usually wind up making to-do lists for the next day, month, or year and greet the dawn after a few hours of suffering.

How much can we do to help ourselves? We all have tried counting sheep, but didn’t help.

banana tea

Not getting a good night’s sleep can seriously damage our body system and stop it from functioning normally. One of the consequences is getting insomnia, which is basically the result of great stress or anxiety, or deep depression issues we are probably unaware of. Having insomnia keeps you awake and active, so your mind keeps itself busy and thinks about the next day, about work, relationships and many other things.

Not only do internal factors (such as depression, stress or anxiety) distort your sleeping routine, but external factors also have a big influence as well. Some people have a serious dependence on medications such as sleeping pills or chronic pain medications for blood pressure or heart problems.

Being dependent on these pain relievers causes people to feel sleepy at first, but with high dosage and continuous usage, they are the major cause of insomnia and disturbed sleep at night. Along with the above-mentioned medications, electronic devices with harmful electromagnetic waves, as well as noise or light can keep us awake at night and disturb us physically and mentally.

Lack of sleep creates impaired cognitive function of the body, energy deficiency and declination of the motor skills, although we sometimes think there is no harm in reducing our sleeping hours every once in a while. It also triggers many diseases such as diabetes, obesity and even cancer.

No matter which of these factors contribute to your lack of sleep at night, there is one simple way to stop you from over-drinking coffee the next morning and wake up refreshed and ready for work. This tea will help you out.

Why bananas and cinnamon?

Bananas have their well-known benefits and they are particularly consumed for their good taste. Surprisingly, they contain magnesium and potassium in high amount in their peel more than in the fruit. This is what most people don’t know when they throw away the peel in the garbage.

Knowing this, we can also add the benefits of consuming potassium and magnesium from the banana peel. Research has shown that these elements make wonders to the nervous system as well as the muscles.

Magnesium is an old mineral used as a remedy for relieving muscles’ pain and cramps and it boosts relaxation. What happens when people don’t get enough sleep is reducing magnesium in the body, which then triggers stress hormones and anxiety.

Apart from the distinct smell and taste, cinnamon helps you with putting your blood sugar level in balance. This allows for hormonal balance and better sleep at night because of the energy balance. People with distorted blood sugar levels often feel tired throughout the day, while having problems sleeping at night.

How to make banana tea

It is important to remember that you will need organic bananas for this recipe before you start to prepare it. This is crucial because other banana peels might contain damaging pesticides causing damage to your body.

  • a dash of cinnamon (at your own taste);
  • 1 small-sized pot of water;
  • 1 organic banana.

It takes approximately ten minutes of your day to make this wondrous tea.

  • Cut the ends of the organic banana and throw them away;
  • Put it to boil (do not take out the peel) for about ten minutes;
  • Serve your tea with a sprinkle of cinnamon at your taste
  • Enjoy your tea before bed

In fact, drinking the tea before going to bed is the best solution if you want to have a good night’s sleep. If you feel a little peckish, you might eat the boiled banana with a little bit of cinnamon as it tastes delicious!

Sleeping pills are bad for you

They may help you a little bit on short-term, but they permanently damage your nervous system. Thousands of people are taking them like candies, and it should seriously concern us, so that we don’t fall in the trap and get addicted.

Studies made in the US show that almost half of the American population has deprived sleep and insomnia, so they rely on sleeping pills.

The truth being said, these drugs including barbiturates, benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax, Ativan and Librium) and other sedatives are addictive, as is every type of drug. Beside their addictive abilities, they are most likely to cause various diseases or health conditions including:

  • heartburn;
  • dizziness;
  • weakness;
  • stomach pain;
  • constipation;
  • headaches;
  • parasomnias (this is a hard one – a condition when you act without realizing it);
  • being difficult to remember thing and focus;
  • slowing down the breathing process, which is dangerous when you have lungs issues.

When we are aware of this information, we wouldn’t want to give our money on drugs that cause more damage to our bodies. We are sure that we want the natural and easy way to solve this problem.

Banana cinnamon tea is a natural, tasty, cheap and warm pleasure to have every night and it will help us in the long term. Start this very evening and say goodbye to the sleepless nights you had in the past.

I didn’t know that you can do something with the banana peel! It always got on my nerves although I am an absolute banana lover. I always thought that bananas are full of sugar and shouldn’t be eaten after 6pm and could never imagined something like this, even though you should only use the peel. Lately, I have been under a lot of stress at work, and whenever I go to bed, there is an imagined wall chat in front of me. I cannot stop thinking about the next working day. It gets me so anxious that I start sweating. Tea is not my favorite thing to drink, I admit, but I really love cinnamon and often put it in my coffee. Ever since I tried cinnamon, I put it in a lot of things on my daily menu. I cannot wait for this working week to end so that I could finally prepare this lovely tea and put a lot of cinnamon in it, of course! I truly hope the tea will make wonders for my lack of sleep and I also hope to get the sleep I deserve.

I’ve tried this as soon as I read the article. You wouldn’t believe how delicious it is!! Plus the banana peel gives such an interesting twist to your tea and it really works. Banana and cinnamon are truly a great combination and tea is an extremely soothing beverage, which works wonders for me. This banana and cinnamon tea relaxes me, plus I gave up medications months ago and replace it with natural remedies, which turned out to be much better than I expected. The only thing that I was really concerned about was about finding organic bananas, because the regular ones may not be as clean as they appear. However, this tea doesn’t work if you drink it once in a while or once a month. I have no problem coming home and preparing it, cuz it takes less than 10 minutes and to be honest, I kinda can’t wait to get home, prepare my tea and relax in the bathtub. I said my goodbyes to stress and insomnia.

I have never boiled a banana before in my life, let alone making a tea out of it. It sounds so new and revolutionary. Me and my family are all into organic food right now, but when talking about sleeping problems, they all started after I got my first baby. She was constantly waking up several times during the night and that continued for about a year and a half. Now, as a result of that, I have sleeping disorder and insomnia for most of the time. The truth is, I wake up at the sound of an insect flying in the room and I started having anxiety problems. I haven’t really tied a sleeping pill because I don’t want to get addicted to it and feeling like a zombie the next day. But, I did try magnesium pills and for a while I have been feeling better. Since I drink magnesium, my jaw moves better and I don’t have cramps in my legs as before during the night sleep. This article gives me hope because it is unusual and I will try it because it so so time-saving and easy. In my opinion we should believe the one who probably spent a lifetime researching and finding out something like this. It is a banana, for God’s sake and it is so natural and yummy. Besides that, our family love bananas and the smell of fruit tea. So, this is a good tea combination.

Lately, I have been under so much stress at work. So during most of my week days after getting done with work I use to say to myself ‘now I am going to go home and I am going to sleep for hours’ and then I end up lying in my bed with my eyes wide opened and not getting a wink of sleep all night long. Then the following day, I feel slow-motioned and as if my brain is being all frozen up. I cannot function as a real person. I feel useless. Honestly, I disapprove of sleeping pills. So that’s why I haven’t tried any until now because I believe they are bad for my health. I didn’t really know how bad they are for my health until I read this article. So it turned out that not only are they addictive but they also may cause various diseases and permanently damage the nervous system. So, what I did was I started exercising before I went to bed but it wasn’t working. I could feel every part of my body dancing and I couldn’t fall asleep for hours even though my body was exhausted. I wish I could have known about this banana cinnamon tea and its health benefits long ago. I am definitely trying it immediately. I really believe in natural remedies and I hope it will work for me. It sounds as the perfect remedy for my sleeping problem. Funny to say but I wasn’t aware that tea can be made out of bananas. In any case, bananas are one of my favorite fruit so I guess that I will like the tea too. What’s more to it, it’s really superb that it won’t take me more than 10 minutes to prepare it.

I knew I wasn’t the only one but lately I have been struggling with the problem of sleeplessness and it’s really disturbing my normal way of life. After a busy day at work I feel so tired at night and I can’t wait for my head to hit the pillow, yet somehow I stay up for hours not being able to fall asleep. I was so happy when I read this article because I started to lose my mind thinking what is wrong with me, why I can’t sleep? I always opt for the herbal medicine and I never would have used sleeping pills, and now thanks to this article I’m aware just how harmful they can be for my overall health. I will immediately try this tea because I love bananas and I love the smell of cinnamon too. Honestly, I didn’t know that you can make banana tea and especially not banana peel tea, but I’m sure I’ll love it. I’m also happy that I’ll need just ten minutes to prepare it, since I come so late at home and I wouldn’t have time for anything that requires longer preparation. Thanks again!

I am a huge fan of tea and I love to consume it in all seasons. My family say I am crazy to drink tea during the hot summer days, but I just love to do it. I usually drink tea in the morning instead of my regular cup of coffee, which I like to take in the afternoon or at noon, depending on whether I’m working or not. I didn’t use to have sleeping issues until last month, when I felt so stressed about my job interview. I could not fall asleep for days. Every night I started counting sheep, but that one didn’t help at all. I almost decided to remove my daily coffee and start consuming sleeping pills, something mild and decided to call my friend Sally. Sally is a healthy food freak and I don’t think she will ever eat a hamburger or something like that. So, I assumed she would recommend something good to eat before I go to sleep. I now thank her because she showed me this article in the first place and then we had a little chat. She personally tried the banana tea for deep sleep and helped her as well. The point is – she said it helped her, but I couldn’t believe anything because she has never had sleeping issues, to be honest. But I had to try something, so I tried the banana tea and I started drinking regularly before going to bed. I couldn’t even wake up in the morning from the good night’s sleep I got from it. I recommend it to everyone counting sheep at night.

What an interesting article! I have read before that banana peels are full of potassium and that they work wonders for the plants when used as a natural fertilizer, but I would never have guessed that a drink can be made from a banana peel! And I am also familiar with the fact that bananas have a high content of magnesium, which completely soothes the nervous system. I have suffered from sleep deprivation for years. The main problem began after I gave birth to my older daughter- following a traumatic premature birth and stress-related issues. I felt compelled to resort to anti-depressant medications occasionally, which unfortunately lead to drowsiness and lack of energy throughout the day, not to mention other serious side-effects. I have decided to turn to herbal and homeopathic remedies, so new sleep-promoting recipes are always welcome. Your recipe also sounds delicious, since my taste buds are extremely sensitive and I simply cannot ingest something that is not tasty. Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices as well, so I believe that it gives a unique twist to this unusual tea. I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for sharing the information.

As one of the oldest beverages, the tea must give us nothing but benefits for our health. Coming to this, the essential life behavior for having good health is everyone to have a good night’s sleep. Rules are simple, 24 hours means equal distribution of 8 hours of work, 8 hours of fun and 8 hours of the precious sleep. Having read this article, it didn’t surprise me that the health benefits of the cinnamon and the tea itself but the peel of the banana. Maybe because of the pesticides present in every peel of every single fruit and vegetable that is easily available for every person to consume. But, the organic fruit is a good point. But, we are used to throw out every peel available, saving us from the damage of the pesticides that can do harm to our bodies. And, the peels of the fruits and vegetables is the first defend line, as the skin is to our body. Extracting the magnesium and the potassium in to the tea from the banana is the reasonable thing to do in order to help you get the good sleep for supporting your health.
