Best Weight Loss Diets You Can Try This New Year

Best Weight Loss Diets

The New Years is around the corner. That means it is time to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions. The most common resolutions are to eat better and to lose weight. If this is your desired resolution, here are the five best weight loss you can try this New Year.

The Colorful Diet

One of the best diets is one that includes colorful produce. Every day, your snacks and meals should include at least five fruits and vegetables.

The best are the ones that are gold, red and purple. Instead of getting regular cabbage, opt for red cabbage. Try red onions instead of white and yellow. These little changes can help you pack your plate with disease-fighting plant compounds.

A neat trick to this diet is to designate a color for each day of the week. For instance, on Mondays, you can eat yellow fruits such as grapefruit, golden apples and corn.

On Tuesdays, have some eggplant and plum or grapes as a snack. If your New Year’s Resolution is a family affair, kids will love this new form of dieting.

You can get a green pizza that is full of bell peppers, spinach and artichokes. This is a fun way to spice up your vegetables and fruit while getting the nutrients you need to help you lose weight.

The Beauty Detox Solution

This celebrity diet created by nutritionist Kimberly Snyder CN is not a crash diet but a lifestyle change. The plan includes only eating starches if you are pairing them with vegetables. If you eat protein, do not eat starch. If your stomach is empty, eat fruit first. You can sooth an empty stomach with a smoothie made from greens and fruits.

You also have to let go of coffee. This diet can help you lose a little more than a pound a week. You may also see clearer skin, shinier hair, better digestion and less cellulite. You can get more details about this diet in Kimberly Snyder’s book, The Beauty Detox Solution.

Dukan Diet

The Dukan Diet claims that you can lose 10 pound in one week. The crux of the diet is the following:

  • Lean protein
  • Oat bran
  • Water
  • 20 minute daily walks

The plan limits your exposure to carbohydrates. This makes your body burn fat more readily. You can eat as much food as you want as long as it is on the recommended list of foods.

The diet is put into four phases. The first phase is called the Attack phase. In this phase, you can eat all the lean protein that your body can handle plus 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran a day. You wash this down with six cups of water. This phase lasts for ten days.

The second phase is the Cruise phase. During this phase, you can add an unlimited amount of non-starch vegetables. This phase can last for several months. You will up your oat bran dose to 2 tablespoons a day.

Consolidation is the third phase, and it lasts five days for every pound you lost. So if you lose 10 pounds, which is 50 days of consolidation.

This phase has you eating veggies every day, plus one piece of fruit, 2 whole-grain bread slices and serving of a hard cheese of your choice. You can have 1 or 2 servings of starches during this phase.

Stabilization is the maintenance phase of this diet. You can eat whatever you want excluding one day out of the week. During that day, you will go back to the attack phase diet rules. You still have to eat 3 tablespoons of oat bran and walk for 20 minutes a day.

This diet does allow you to use artificial sweeteners, sugar-free gum and one glass of wine a day.

The Flexitarian Diet

This diet minimizes your intake of starches, added sugars and fat from dairy products and meat. It highlights the consumption of veggies, fruits, egg whites, poultry, fish, nonfat dairy products, lean protein and soy products.

The vegetables work to help you feel full. Vegetables filled with fiber are the best option. You have to drink plenty of water. Purge all of your unhealthy food from your home.

This diet also calls for you to stay busy so that you do not eat out of boredom. Other habits include only eating from a plate and at a table,

Quench Your Thirst With Water

  • A water diet is one of the best and least expensive ways to diet. This diet does not require you to drink 8 glasses of water a day. It is a little smaller than that.
  • Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up. This means drinking it before you brush your teeth.
  • When you have the temptation to drink a high calorie caffeinated drink, carbonated drink or another glass of wine. Drink a cup of water to quench your thirst. You are stopping yourself for consuming the extra calories.
  • Make a resolution to drink one more cup of water today than you drunk yesterday.
