Are all fruits safe for babies?
As mothers, we only want the best for our little ones. Then again, despite the smaller amount of acids in it, pineapples may still be hard on the digestive system of your baby. Typically, consuming fruits with citric acids may trigger rashes.
If your little one has high sensitivity level and every new food introduce to him brings some adverse effects, it is best to suspend pineapple for a while and wait until he turns one. Even a small quantity of citric acids can hurt his tummy and result to an upset digestive system.
On the other hand, if your child does not exhibit any adverse impacts after introducing pineapples to him, you may start giving your little one a small piece of the fruit when he reaches eight to ten months old. By the time your baby has pineapples, it is important to feed a small piece to observe for any reaction. If no reaction occurs, you may continue giving pineapples to your baby. Try mashing it up and serve it as an addition to your baby’s oatmeal or yogurt.
For children allergic to pineapples, you may first give a small piece to your little one or serve it with another food that your baby loves. Wait for three days before you introduce new foods. By doing so, you can be sure whether the allergy is brought on by pineapples or not.
Tips for Giving Solid Foods
When your child begins solid foods, try serving it to them in a mashed form or try cutting the solid foods into small pieces. We do this to avoid causing your baby to choke.
