The Russian President Vladimir Putin has told the Russian Parliament that Russia should become the world’s largest supplier of organic foods, in a message released to the media on Thursday.
Vladimir Putin stated that, “We are not only able to feed ourselves taking into account our lands, water resources – Russia is able to become the largest world supplier of healthy, ecologically clean and high-quality food which the Western producers have long lost, especially given the fact that demand for such products in the world market is steadily growing.”
As President Vladimir Putin put it, it is necessary to have a nationwide approach on the issue, and also by 2020, to fully meet the Russian demand for locally-produced Russian food. The year of 2015 has been a turning point in the Russian agriculture with the Russian government announcing a whole new approach to food production and labeling.
In January 2015 Vladimir Putin signed the Russian Federation Code of Administrative Offences into law, including a new article that establishes liability for the violation of mandatory requirements for the labeling of food products that contain GMOs.
The bill which was submitted by the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) imposes fines for vague or unclear labeling on food products containing genetically modified ingredients (that is GMOs).
In June, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich announced that Russia will NOT use genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to increase productivity in agriculture, while he was speaking on Friday at a session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Getting rid of both the chemical pollution and the genetic one is the best way to get rid of the UNWANTED. One should also add electromagnetic pollution for a completely safe organic food!
“Russia has chosen a different path. We will not use these technologies,” Vladimir Putin said.
As a result of this highest-level decision, Russian organic food will be one of the cleanest in the world in terms of technology use, Dvorkovich continued. A bill for a full ban on the cultivation of GMO crops is currently going through the State Duma.
The Russian Minister of Agriculture Nikolai Fyodorov also believes that Russia, as a future organic food supplier, must remain a GMO-free country. At a meeting of deputies, representing rural areas organized by United Russia, he said that the government will not “poison their citizens.”
Russia is leaving the West in the dust
During the same Parliamentary session, Vladimir Putin brought up the fact that Russia was an importer of food 10 years ago and now exports 20 billion dollars’ worth of food a year. More money has come from food production than gas and weapons sales for Russia.
Russia also ended the creation of genetically-modified-organisms this September. In the meanwhile, countries such as the United States protect Monsanto via the Monsanto Protection Act and manage to waste 165 billion dollars’ worth of food a year. The European Union has also made attempts to outlaw heirloom seeds and unregistered gardens before, exhibiting an equal parallel with the rouge American government’s tenacity to imbue tyranny across the Atlantic.
However, 90% of the Americans want GMO food labeled, demonstrating how the renegade US government does not stand by the will of the people, opting to instead incessantly protect and serve Bio-tech corporations such as Monsanto, Du Pont and Syngenta.
To put this in perspective for you, one sobering example is the 291,000 suicides in India, directly linked to the Monsanto Corporation. Sadly, it is only one of many facts one can cite – and the US Government obsessively protects and maintains an actual relationship with the corporation. A company which consciously causes suffering and death on a grand scale all the while enjoying pampering treatment from the US Government!
Up to 80% of Russian people are against GMO’s, and their government and President Vladimir Putin listened to pleas of the citizens, banning these unhealthy products entirely! Well, it is nothing short of a revolutionary act, right?
Indeed, we couldn’t agree more with the Russian President Vladimir Putin: Russia could indeed become the world’s largest supplier of ecologically clean and high-quality organic food since it does have all the “ingredients” for this health food goal.
