fats and carbs

People have developed countless methods of losing weight, based on more or less accurate theories or banks of information. Depending on what kind of diet resources you have been using, you might have different views on fats and carbs. However, most people have it all wrong. There’s a good chance that you also only have half the facts when it comes to these two. Here are the things you need to know about fats and carbs and how they really affect your body.

There is such a thing as “good fats”

Just because something contains fats doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing. There are of course your bad fats, which are detrimental to your body and you want to remove from your diet. However, there are also good fats which are in fact essential for your body. If your diet would completely remove any fat from it, it would no longer be something beneficial to your health, but something quite opposite. You can find good fats in fish, quality meat as well as different products like olive oil. Consuming fatty fish or some olive oil will bring fats into your body, but it wouldn’t be a bad thing. (1)

Carbs aren’t the devil

Today, carbs are made out to be the ultimate bad guy when it comes to losing weight or your diet in general. And while yes, they play a huge role in how your body accumulates weight over time, it’s important to know that consuming carbs doesn’t do all that damage on its own. What really pushes you to gain weight is the fact that you consume more carbs than you should, in relation to how much you exercise. If you would hit the gym several hours per day, every day, eating a truckload of carbs wouldn’t mean you gain a ton of weight. However, if you consume large amounts of carbs but live a sedentary life, they will only latch onto your hips. (2)

Finding balance

Today, being healthy is one of the things people are most interested in. From diets to cleanses to health products like the range from Isagenix in Australia, people try everything in order to lose weight and also cleanse their bodies. However, the secret to achieving this is finding balance. Eating carbs or fats isn’t silhouette suicide. It’s all about consuming the right type and in the right quantities. This way, you give your body what it needs to prosper while avoiding what can hinder your progress. Knowing where that fine line between necessary and excess resides is what can help you the most when it comes to losing weight and reaching a healthy physical state. (3)
