You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone arguing that life today can be challenging. Between working to pay the bills, maintaining the home, managing family, and a slew of obligations, it’s hard to find time to breathe, much less stay on top of your health.  Thankfully, here are a few simple health hacks for busy people that can help you keep track of your wellbeing without compromising your tight schedule.

Prepare Meals in Advance

When you’re up to your eyeballs with crammed schedules, very often a healthy diet suffers the most.  If you’re constantly on the go, it can be much easier to grab a doughnut or a bag of chips from the vending machine.  If you can relate, then start preparing healthy meals in advance.  Spend one day a week preparing individual meals, storing them in containers, and freezing them or keeping them in the fridge. You may also want to pre-pack healthy snacks so you’re not tempted to snag a candy bar from the break room.  Having nutritious meals at the ready will help you stay healthy without skipping a beat in your busy life.

Have Your Meals Made For You

Sometimes cooking and pre-packing meals isn’t an option for busy people.  Perhaps the so-called “joys of cooking” are decidedly not joyful for you.  Or, maybe you’re just too busy to set aside time to prepare meals for the week ahead.  Thankfully, there are a number of healthy meal delivery services you can take advantage of.  Meal kit services such as Hello Fresh or Blue Apron will deliver fresh, healthy meals right to your door.  These and other services often offer a variety of options such as vegan, vegetarian, organic, keto, or paleo-centric meals. Meal subscriptions are a great way to stick to a healthy diet no matter how busy you are.

Utilize Health Subscription Services

Healthy meal delivery isn’t the only subscription service you can take advantage of if you’re crunched for time. Think about enrolling in subscription services for wellness items that you’ll inevitably need to restock at some point.  For instance, set up monthly automatic delivery for vitamins, herbal teas, supplements, or essential hygiene products.  Doing this can save you time from shopping, and in some cases, subscription services can even save you money.

Get a Health App or Wearable Health Monitors

Looking for ways to work on your health with a busy routine? There’s an app for that.  Look at applications such as a step app that records your activity through the day from your smartphone. You might also consider getting apps to improve your mental health such as the Calm app, which helps you relax and stay mindful during your busy day.  Lastly, you can get a wearable health monitor such as a FitBit that keeps track of your heart rate, and other vitals so you’ve always got a bead on your health while going through your hectic day.

Do Workouts at Home

Just about everybody knows that exercise is key to staying fit and healthy.  But if you’re too busy to schedule time at the gym, or get to a spinning session, then your exercise routine might be falling by the wayside. Take charge of your cardio and exercise needs by bringing the gym to you. For instance, you can bring a Peloton Cycle into your home. This can allow you to work in an exercise session without hassling with traffic to get to the gym or rearranging your schedule.

Get Convenient Health Checks

Since the advent of home health tests like the Hologic universal screening kit, getting quick medical testing is a cinch. Thanks to these home tests, you can check on any number of conditions. From cancer screening to STIs, these home checkup kits are fast, convenient, and a private way to get a medical diagnosis. Furthermore, you can utilize telehealth, which is an online medical system that allows you to manage your medical issues. Telehealth also gives you the ability to schedule appointments, get online consultations, and even refill prescriptions.

Get Real About Time

Lastly, it’s a good idea to identify and crush false ideas about time. If you’re so busy that you stop appreciating the things in your life that are truly important, then it might be time to rethink priorities.  While we all have to hustle and bustle in our quest to get ahead, it doesn’t mean anything if we can’t take time to enjoy our lives.  So, make time for yourself and the things you love – no matter how busy you are.
