face mask

What is more comforting after a long day filled with obligations than to snug up in comfortable clothes, listening to your favourite music or reading one of your chosen books or even maybe relaxing with your best friends gossiping and having `girls time` while making facial masks from the leftovers from your own kitchen? This is a sort of "win-win situation" when you are having little time for yourself, or bonding time with your besties and plus on top of everything you get to feel your skin fresh, glowing and healthy-looking.

These healthy handmade facial masks are chemicals free, unlike the one that you can buy in the store for a ridiculous amount of money, or even go to cosmetics where you are at the risk of damaging your skin by the hands of unprofessionalism or lack of experience.

Since we all have different skin types, accordingly we have different types of facial masks.

  • Facial mask for normal skin.

Most people have a normal skin type that is neither too oily nor too dry but rather a good balance of moist and balanced equal tone. Generally, this type of skin doesn’t require much additional care rather needs masks that can deeply clean and purify pores.

For this mask, you will be needing organic honey, turmeric spice, and lemon juice. Turmeric as a spice is often underestimated but it has a variety of positive outcomes on the skin, it is packed with antioxidants, it has anti-inflammatory effects and evens out the skin tone, leaving it fresh and equalized. Honey is well known as an antibacterial substance also full of antioxidants that leaves skin soft and full of moist. And last the lemon juice that is filled up with vitamin C plays role in collagen production, therefore it has a contribution in antiaging.

Instructions: Mix well all the ingredients, apply the mask on clean and washed face, leave it up for 15 up to 20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

  • Facial mask for dry skin

Dry skin is a common condition and it occurs more in elderly people with decreased secretion of skin oils and lubricants. Facial masks for this type of skin require adequate moisturizing effects and meticulously chosen products. There are several products that can help you with the adequate moisturizing effect, for example, virgin coconut oil, virgin olive oil, eggs, bananas, honey, oats etc.

For this mask, you will be needing virgin coconut oil and organic honey. Coconut oil itself has saturated fats in its composition which makes the perfect remedy for dry skin since these particular fats prevent moisture loss through pores of the skin. To add up, we`ve already mentioned the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects of organic honey.

Instructions:

Mix well 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil with ¼ cup of organic honey, apply the mask on a clean and washed face, leave it up for 15 up to 20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

*Apply this mask twice a week to feel the difference

  • Facial mask for oily skin

Oily skin has a characteristic look with enlarged pores and shiny layers on the face because of the increased secretion of sebum or excessive oil. Usually, the most problematic zone on the face is the so-called “T-zone” composed of the forehead, nose, and chin that are prone to develop blackheads, acne, pimples and congested pores. For this type of skin is essential to cleanse twice a day and exfoliate the dead skin on the surface. More than useful can be ingredients such as oats, lemons, different fruits, and clay.

For this mask, you will need organic honey and tomato pulp. Tomatoes are having constricting effects on the enlarged pores and they dissolve extra oil from the skin.

Instructions: we mix equal portions of the honey and the tomato, then apply it on the clean skin especially on the “T-zone”, afterwards we wait 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

*Apply this mask 2-3 times a week to feel the difference
